Overview

What sea freight covers

Sooner or later, almost every inter-island shipment in Indonesia goes by sea. These shipments need earlier planning, because vessel schedules are far less flexible than trucks.

We book vessel space, handle port documentation and arrange onward delivery to site. You deal with one party from end to end.

Scope of service

Nine sea freight services

  • Domestic Door to Door Service
  • LCL Consolidation Service
  • Full Container Service
  • Break Bulk Cargo Service
  • Project Cargo Service
  • Heavy Cargo Transportation
  • Multimodal — sea, air and inland
  • Packaging
  • Cargo Insurance Service

FCL — full container load

Your cargo occupies a container of its own. The safest option for material that must not be mixed or repeatedly rehandled.

LCL — less than container load

Shared container space with other shippers. Lighter on cost when your volume does not fill a container.

Port documentation

Loading and discharge paperwork, including coordination with the port so cargo is not held up.

Onward delivery

From the discharge port to your warehouse or site, using our road fleet in the destination city.

Commonly used for

  • Bulk shipments heading beyond Java
  • Imported cargo continuing to a regional warehouse or store
  • Moving heavy equipment between islands
  • Recurring procurement that can be scheduled well in advance

Worth knowing

  • Vessel schedules are fixed, so plan earlier than you would for road
  • Weather can affect departures in certain seasons
  • Packing must be sturdier, as cargo is handled several times
  • Cargo insurance is strongly advised for high-value equipment
