Four services

Four modes, a single point of accountability

We do not treat four modes as four separate products. Inland transport and regional warehouses carry the day-to-day work; ocean and air freight are engaged when the route or the deadline requires them. Intermodal handovers are managed by one team, so responsibility is never split across vendors.

Choosing a mode

The right mode depends on three factors

Destination, deadline, and how the material will be drawn down determine the most efficient mode. The table below summarises the comparison; for specific requirements, our team assesses the route and cargo characteristics before quoting.

Comparison of DMM's four services by coverage, timing, cargo, typical use, and monitoring system.
Aspect Inland Transportation Warehousing & Distribution Ocean Freight Air Freight
Coverage Domestic, across provinces, door to door 18 warehouses in 17 provinces, Lampung to Jayapura Inter-island and international Domestic and international
Timing Follows overland route distance Material held near site, ready for release Deadlines in weeks, following sailing schedules Fastest; scheduled and express
Cargo General to project and heavy cargo, with cargo insurance Stored to material characteristics, released in stages Large volumes, FCL or LCL Critical materials, including special handling requirements
Best when The destination is reachable overland and route control matters Demand is recurring or staged within the same region Cost efficiency per volume is the priority Delay costs more than freight
Monitoring FSL — stage-by-stage status, history, proof of delivery WIM — stock connected across branches FSL — stage-by-stage status, history, proof of delivery FSL — stage-by-stage status, history, proof of delivery

Most engagements combine more than one mode. We manage the handovers under a single coordination.

Systems

The same visibility on every mode

Every shipment and every unit of stock is recorded in our two internal systems. Clients monitor the position of their goods regardless of the mode in use.
